There is a common thread that weaves all people together. Everyone will experience a dark stage in his or her life. These times may come in the form of a loss of health, an income, a loved one, or a relationship. There are many ways difficulty may rear its ugly head. Initially, the one who experiences loss has a feeling of total disbelief and disillusionment; “is this really happening?” They look for answers, and there are none found.

When trials come, how do we respond? Responses depend upon how we view life. Is life a just big bowl of manure or can something be learned in times of trial?

From Grief to Victory: Looking for a Pony in the Manure Pile is a true story of someone who experienced a series of losses in a relatively short time. His father passed away, his wife left, divorce and bankruptcy followed. This was the darkest stage of his life. There was an inner struggle to maintain his trust in God while his world crumbled around him. The security know is gone and the future uncertain. It was a time of extreme testing, but there was a light that shown through it all.

The book offers encouragement to those who are in or have been in a dark place. There is hope and a “light” that comes in the dark for those who persevere. It may seem obscure, but there is victory awaiting.
